Bucketfeet

Based on the real brand Bucketfeet, we were tasked with creating a new brand identity and packaging for their shoes. I focused on how Bucketfeet categorizes their products by specific themes and moods. I liked the idea of categorizing products based on the personalities and interests of the consumer, so I created mascot-style characters for each category.

In the gallery above, I displayed every box in the collection. Each box remains similar enough in design to be easily identified as part of the same system, the pattern including every character acts as a reminder that each character is a part of a full cast, but shows off a distinct personality.

The banner on top of the images are pulled directly from each category’s page on the Bucketfeet website. Each character has a main shoe that inspired the character, and two supplementary shoes to show other products in the category. Each character is wearing the shoes and an outfit that matches a real pattern on the Bucketfeet website.

When putting all of the designs side by side, you can see how each character has a unique silhouette or elements that set it apart from the others. While certain categories have very fitting designs such as the Travel bird with her little backpack, others contrast or abstract off of the animal/category such as turning the Food mouse’s ears into donuts, or giving the Plant pig spikes like a cactus.
